The term chemical recycling describes various processes and services of involved companies. There are different definitions and assessments of chemical recycling. In most cases it describes procedures in which plastic waste of different kinds is decomposed into the chemical ingredients using energy. 

REMONDIS and Pyrum have signed a letter of intent to build a plant for pyrolysis of used tyres in Bremen. That has been announced py Pyrum Innovations AG in a press release. From 20.000 tons of used tyres per year they plan to recover pyrolysis oil and the raw material carbon black with the Pyrum technology. The plant shall be located on a site owned by Weserport in Bremen, a subsidiary of the REMONDIS sister company Rhenus.
